Occupational Injuries, both traumatic and cumulative, often involve the upper limb. From the farm to the factory floor; the computer desk to the concert stage, these workplace injuries present us with unique challenges.

Optimising outcomes in occupational upper limb injuries is the focus of the AHTA2008 National Conference. Evidence based outcomes of clinical intervention and the current management approaches of governing bodies will be comprehensively explored. The Hand Therapist's role within the occupational rehabilitation system will be discussed. Improved clinical decision making will be highlighted in order to build on Therapists' resourcefulness when dealing with complex processes.

Conference themes include:

  • Acute Trauma
  • Over-use Injuries
  • Degenerative Conditions
  • Ergonomics
  • Functional Splinting
  • Pain
  • Occupational Rehabilitation

The Conference will be held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, located only minutes from the city and surrounded by beautiful parklands. All forms of transport are within easy access including a newly completed pedestrian bridge connecting to Federation Square.
